The Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) participated in the International Day of Forests 2025 exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources, in collaboration with the Guyana Forestry Commission on Friday, March 21, 2025. The event was held at the University Tain Campus in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) and it was celebrated under the global theme: Forests and Food.

The GEA team was thrilled to engage with attendees and share insights on the importance of sustainable living and conservation practices, demonstrated through its 3D replica of the 150-kW Kato Hydropower Model, currently being constructed in Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni). This helped highlight how sustainable practices contribute to healthy, thriving forests that safeguards food sources, biodiversity, and communities. These efforts align with the goals of the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) 2030, as we work together nationwide to build a more sustainable, low-carbon future.
